About Florida 27 Recycle

At FL 27 Recycle, we take pride in providing top-notch recycling services tailored for businesses, residents, and vacationers in beautiful North Florida. Our journey started with a simple idea - to make recycling accessible and friendly for everyone.

Join us as we create a cleaner environment together! It's not just about professional service; it's about community spirit. Every time you recycle with us, you're making a difference, and that's what makes our story uniquely yours. Let's work hand-in-hand for a greener tomorrow!

Communities We Service

St. George Island to Mexico Beach, to include Eastpoint, Apalachicola and Port St. Joe. We look to expand our service into Carrabelle and Wewahitchka during 2025.

Our Story

We are Christy and Richard Bracken, and we moved to Port St. Joe a few years ago to savor Florida's stunning Gulf Coast, with its beautiful white beaches, charming downtown areas, and fresh seafood.

However, we soon noticed a problem: our trash cans were overflowing every week. It became clear that our area lacked a curbside recycling service, and we realized that many vacationers might be facing the same issue, wondering where to dispose of their recyclables—like plastic bottles, grocery bags, soda cans, and glass packaging.

As avid recyclers, we decided to take action. We began separating items for drop-off at various locations: the PSJ Fire Department accepts aluminum cans, there's a cardboard drop-off in Apalachicola, and we save glass bottles to take home. We also took advantage of volunteer collection events in the community.

Through conversations with residents, business owners, and visitors, we found a shared desire to recycle but a lack of convenient options. Determined to address this, we set out to develop a recycling program for the North Florida area. We pitched our idea to organizations like the SBA and the Chamber of Commerce, and we were thrilled to receive strong community support.

What began with our overflowing trash can has now evolved into Florida 27 Recycle—a business dedicated to helping residents, businesses, and vacationers make a significant impact on reducing landfill waste.

Together, we can make a difference!
